Usually the bearing or bearings on the fan will fail on these fan motors allowing the fan to run off true and they will get very noisy. They are important as a lot of oven and cooker models are fitted with thermal cut-out thermostats and, if the oven or cooker is not cooled correctly, it will cut out on those until it cools down and the thermostat resets to restore power.
